Join Partners in Mental Health and support the Mental Health Strategy for Canada today. Read it, Support it, and Share it. - Mission Statement was established to help educate and create awareness surrounding mental health issues and suicide.

We are a grassroots organization that partners with other agencies in order to reduce the stigma that surrounds mental illness.

Our goal is to become a foundation that continues to make a difference in how people perceive mental illness, and to increase public awareness of available resources and effective treatment.

Our Big Fundraising Event and Current Projects’s big annual event is our Andrew Dunn Walk/Run, held each year on the Saturday before Mother’s Day in Oakbank, Manitoba.

We support several mental health educational and awareness events including the Putting a Face to Suicide Conference, through our partnership with the Health Sciences Centre and the National Mental Health Conference, through our close working partnership with the Mood Disorders Association.  Both of these important mental health events are held in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

The organization also supports and presents two annual awards to deserving students; one is a good citizen award to a student at Royal Elementary School in Charleswood, Manitoba and the other is presented to a student upon graduation from Springfield Collegiate Institute in Oakbank, Manitoba, with special consideration given to furthering their education in the area of mental health.

Volunteers is run by volunteers steered by an executive committee. The committee members meet on the second Sunday of each month in Oakbank, Manitoba.

Volunteer Opportunities

We need you. Volunteer on our Silent Auction Team. We are recruiting new members, who will be mentored by our seasoned veterans.

We are always looking for enthusiastic volunteers with a passion for our cause. Want to help? Contact us. We'd love to hear from you.

Call Judy Dunn at 204-444-5228 or email her at and the Andrew Dunn Walk/Run are named in memory of a precious life that was lost to suicide. The naming of our organization does not in any way honor a death by suicide. Rather our name echoes the permanent sense of loss and the pain that is left behind in the wake of a suicide and inspires our organization members’ efforts to be a part of suicide awareness and prevention initiatives.

Funding Opportunities accepts funding requests from September to May each year. Apply for funding by downloading our ADO Funding Application Package
